There was a famous dialect, “Don’t Say Aunt/Uncle, I am still young and live”. This word ‘Aunt/Uncle’ has become more an offensive comment rather than just a word. Aunty was such a respectful word used to give respect to someone equivalent to mother but now people use it differently. Today people use it either to show themselves young or to offend the other person. I don’t know why we fear so much of growing old. Everything comes with something good hidden in it but we being human tends to see only ill effects of it. Here are certain treasure points of growing old which may change your perception.

1. Experience
The most obvious thing we get with a growing number in age is experience. One may have enormous talent but the proper way to display it comes with experience. That is why our initial projects are not that good.

2. The more you grow, the more you learn
There are certain things which you learn slowly by doing them, making mistakes, meeting a variety of people, facing unfavorable circumstances. There is no shortcut to earn this exposure.

3. Your words become more worthy
We always give preference to the advice of elderly people. Because we know they have a better understanding of things than us. The best example is the advertisements. The famous brands choose older stars for ads because they know, they have a face value and people will trust them.

4. You get more respect from society
You may call it our culture or courtesy but elder people get more respect. You may witness this in public places also.

5. Your horizon of thoughts widens
The more you get exposed to the outer world, the broader will be your thinking. You develop a better perception or receptiveness of subjects and so the thought process improves. This is the reason that sometimes our elders sound cooler than us.

6. Stability of mind
Youngsters display great energy in working but they lack a kind of stability in personality. They are not even clear about their choices. But this gets settled after a certain age because by then you have experimented a lot.

7. Personality
This is my personal belief that it adds to your personality. Experience, exposure, your accomplishments all add to your style of representing yourself. You get more confident in your doings.

Growing old is a part of life
Why not let’s make it more bright
Everyone has to pass it sometime
Let’s look at its a positive side!”
